If you did not know, Maplewood is a very special place, oozing character and bursting with talent and creativity. I love my community of Maplewood/South Orange and am thankful every day for living in such a creative and friendly place. So when Karen Duncan prepared her spring issue of Matters Magazine - the Home and Garden issue- there was no question I wanted to be part of it.

Because local matters this magazine is so valuable as it connects us all and helps us appreciate all the wonderful things we have right here at our doorstep.

I am convinced my family was guided by a friendly fairy when our transfer from Switzerland brought us to Maplewood 13 years ago. A whirlwind of house hunting - blissfully unaware of most of the traps and pitfalls of bidding for and buying a house - put us gently down in this spectacular place, and in all these years I have not come across another town that I would rather live in!

We have come home, thank you Maplewood!
